2012 McLaren MP4 – 12C – 10.9 seconds

The 2012 McLaren MP4 – 12C can complete a quarter mile in 10.9 seconds at maximum speed of 135 miles per hour. This is actually the first car completely designed and built by McLaren since the McLaren F1. It features a mid-mounted McLaren M838T 3.8-liter V8, twin-turbo engine that can produce up to 616 horsepower. It has a rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout. It also features a seven-speed Seamless Shift dual clutch transmission system. It also made use of Formula One technology with the brake steer, in which the inside of the rear wheel is braked when cornering at a fast speed. This allows the reduction of understeering.

In the 1990s, McLaren manufactured the F1, a limited-edition car that reached 240 miles per hour and was the fastest street-legal model in history. The MP4-12C doesn’t quite reach that speed, but it’s fast enough to become part of the 200-miles per hour club.
