The 2009 SSC Ultimate Aero TT can complete a quarter mile in 9.9 seconds
at maximum speed of 144 miles per hour. The particular model used in
the quarter mile test has a 6.35-liter 387.8 cu twin-turbocharged V8
engine. It can develop horsepower of 1,287 bhp. The manufacturer, SSC
(Shelby Super Cars) North America, released an updated version of the
engine in 2012 that has a 6.94-liter 423.6 cu V8 engine. The car has a
rear mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout. It does not have ABS brakes
and traction control like other modern cars because of the company’s
desire to make it a driver’s vehicle.
